First of all I would like to thank you for visiting our web page.
I’m Alex Khalkov, the “Black Sea Band” leader, and it’s my great pleasure to present for your attention my friends and excellent musicians – members of “BSB”. I hope you will find it useful as well as pleasant. |
Now let’s
take a close look to the history of the band. The very beginning
of collaboration had started about 15 years ago (1984),
during the study
in Municipal Music College of Odessa, where all members
of the band
were undertaking their study on Jazz Department.
For four
years musicians were getting education in different styles of music
from classic to jazz, performing in combos, big bands and
solo concerts as part
of education process. We were participating in such activities
as jazz festivals
and concerts in Ukraine and all over the former Soviet Union.
Such great
experience and education (all of us have got appropriate
diplomas) had become very useful, when band decided to work on
cruising ships.

Through all the years
of work the band has become very experienced
in performing live production shows, accompaniating the artists
and dance
groups, and have earned reputation as very reliable and stable
group,
paying great attention to all needs of certain passengers,
artists on the
stage and dance floor.
We have
excellent abilities of reading music in all different styles with or
without click track etc. Our repertoire includes huge choice of
music for dancing,
cocktails and other activities. We always pay great attention to
how our band
is looking as well as playing, and so we’re open to advises
and wishes constantly
of ship administration.
As a special
offer - an original “Popular classic show”, fully staged and
arranged can be offered to your attention, which has been very
popular and
appreciated as part of entertainment program on the previous
ships.

Technical equipment
Technically the
band is fully equipped with instruments and sound system,
which may be adopted to all needs of employer and is ready to
fly off to where our
skills and abilities will be needed.
